BATTLE OF ST AUBIN DU CORMIER
Early day motion 1582, tabled 8 July 2002 by Simon Thomas (Plaid Cymru). Signed by 15 members.
That this House expresses its concern at proposals to allow a rubbish dump on the site of the 1488 battle of St. Aubin du Cormier; notes that this battle was the last in a series to retain Breton independence and that English archers served on the Breton side; and asks that the French government respects this historic site and the soldiers who fell there in the spirit of European unity that now brings together Brittany, France, England, Wales and Scotland in common cause.
