TURNER PRIZE AND THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR PONTYPRIDD

Early day motion 1851, tabled 5 November 2002 by Martyn Jones (Labour). Signed by 8 members.

That this House concurs with the recent remarks of the honourable Member for Pontypridd on the quality of shortlisted entries for the 2002 Turner Prize; shares his view that the art establishment in Britain is completely out of touch; and calls on future Turner Prize juries to ensure that shortlists are devoid of entries that resemble bits of building material.
