ORGANIC ACTION PLAN

Early day motion 1768, tabled 16 October 2002 by Joan Ruddock (Labour). Signed by 59 members.

That this House welcomes the announcement of an action plan for organic farming in England, and the target for the market share of British organic produce to increase from 30 per cent. to 70 per cent.; believes that this target is achievable as 74 per cent. of non-organic produce is already home produced; and therefore calls on the Government to put in place a programme of action to ensure the target is met by 2010.

Signatures by party: Labour 33, Liberal Democrat 18, Labour/Co-operative 4, Plaid Cymru 3, Conservative 1.
