BRITISH ENERGY (No. 2)

Early day motion 1738, tabled 15 October 2002 by Michael Weir (Scottish National Party). Signed by 32 members.

That this House is concerned at the loans given by Her Majesty's Government to British Energy; believes that the financial difficulties of the company shows, yet again, that nuclear power is uneconomic; believes that there is no future for nuclear power; and further believes that no more taxpayers money should be used to prop up nuclear power companies and that all existing nuclear power stations should be decommissioned at the end of their technological lives.

Signatures by party: Labour 15, Liberal Democrat 12, Scottish National Party 3, Plaid Cymru 2.
