ROYAL MAIL LEAVE ENTITLEMENT

Early day motion 174, tabled 10 January 2001 by Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 31 members.

That this House calls on the Royal Mail to allow staff to enjoy Boxing Day with their families by not requiring them to work on 27th December each year; believes that the benefits of allowing staff to spend more time with their families over the Christmas period outweigh the drawbacks of no postal deliveries on 27th December; and thanks all Royal Mail employees for their hard work during the Christmas postal rush.

Signatures by party: Labour 16, Liberal Democrat 11, Labour/Co-operative 4.
