TIE-UP SCHEME FOR SCOTTISH FISHERMEN

Early day motion 449, tabled 14 March 2001 by Margaret Ewing (Scottish National Party). Signed by 6 members.

That this House notes with grave concern the failure of the Scottish Executive to implement the will of the democratically elected Scottish Parliament in its support for the compensation scheme for fishermen, who have voluntarily tied-up in order to protect juvenile haddock stocks; notes that strong warnings were given of the implications of displacement more than six months ago; and urges the Labour Party to support the democratic rights of the Scottish Parliament.

Signatures by party: Scottish National Party 4, Plaid Cymru 2.
