MEDICALERT

Early day motion 149, tabled 7 December 1999 by Helen Southworth (Labour). Signed by 90 members.

That this House is concerned that the forthcoming telephone number change will cost Medicalert, a charity which provides life-saving telephone-supported services to people with serious medical conditions, nearly ú800,000 for recall and engraving of the bracelets or pendants, which alert medical emergency services to an individual's special medical needs, with their new number; and calls on the telecoms industry to honour its moral obligation to reimburse Medicalert for this cost which is entirely due to the number change.
