"SUBTITLES@YOURLOCALCINEMA" CAMPAIGN

Early day motion 642, tabled 8 May 2001 by Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 7 members.

That this House commends the "subtitles@yourlocalcinema" campaign started by nine year old Dean Rhodes-Brandon to promote better access to cinemas for the disabled; regrets that most British cinemas do not have suitable facilities for the deaf and blind; notes that there are over seven million deaf and hard of hearing people in the United Kingdom; and urges British cinemas to respond to the campaign by investing insuitable equipment to make the film-going experience open to everyone.

Signatures by party: Labour 6, Liberal Democrat 1.
