AGE DISCRIMINATION IN THE PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES

Early day motion 366, tabled 8 February 2000 by Edward O'Hara (Labour). Signed by 184 members.

That this House congratulates Age Concern on its recent report, Turning Your Back on Us; Older People and the NHS, outlining the problem of age discrimination in the National Health Service; believes that healthcare should not be denied or delayed on the basis of age; and urges the Government to set up a thorough independent investigation to assess the extent of age discrimination in the National Health Service and to establish a clear agenda for action.
