LEWES-UCKFIELD LINE AND FRANCHISE RENEGOTIATIONS

Early day motion 301, tabled 20 January 2000 by Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 2 members.

That this House welcomes the proposals put forward by Connex as part of their application for a franchise extension; is very pleased to note that this includes a commitment to secure the reopening of the Lewes-Uckfield railway line; wishes to see this achieved at the earliest possible opportunity; and believes any other franchise applications for the present Connex South-Central area need to match or better these proposals and include the same commitment to reopen the Lewes-Uckfield line.
