ARMS EXPORTS TO MOROCCO

Early day motion 573, tabled 29 March 2000 by Jeremy Corbyn (Labour). Signed by 38 members.

That this House is deeply concerned by Morocco's continuing armed occupation of Western Sahara; fears for the safety of Saharawi citizens following violent clashes in towns across Western Sahara in March; believes that the issuing of British military export licences, including CS gas grenades and rubber bullets, to Morocco contravenes Criterions 2 and 4 of the EU code of Conduct on Arms Exports; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to halt the issuing of all licences to Morocco until the Saharawi people have exercised their inalienable right to self-determination.

Signatures by party: Labour 27, Labour/Co-operative 4, Liberal Democrat 4, Independent Labour 1, Plaid Cymru 1, Scottish National Party 1.
