That this House congratulates S4C, the Welsh language television channel, on the Oscar nomination for its film Solomon & Gaenor; notes with pleasure that this is the third Oscar nomination for an S4C-sponsored programme; recognises the high standards that S4C has achieved in Welsh language broadcasting; welcomes the fact that this broadcasting is now available more widely in the United Kingdom through digital providers; further recognises that proper funding for the Welsh film industry and the Wales Film and Television Archive is essential; and urges the Government to take note of these successes in creating jobs in Wales and engendering a cultural renaissance.
