TOP-UP FEES

Early day motion 413, tabled 16 February 2000 by Bill Rammell (Labour). Signed by 98 members.

That this House strongly welcomes the statement from the Secretary of State for Education and Employment reaffirming his opposition to university top-up fees; believes that top-up fees would create a two-tier university system and would discourage access by poorer students because loans would not be available to meet the costs of top-up fees for these students.
