AIR PASSENGER DUTY AND CHILDREN

Early day motion 409, tabled 16 February 2000 by James Plaskitt (Labour). Signed by 57 members.

That this House notes that as a result of EU infraction proceedings, the Government is required to end the exemption from air passenger duty for the return leg of domestic flights; welcomes the Chancellor's commitment, in his pre-budget statement, to meet these requirements through revenue-neutral changes to air passenger duty; and urges the Chancellor to consider achieving this by exempting children from this tax.
