MOBILE PHONES, HEALTH AND PLANNING
Early day motion 736, tabled 16 May 2000 by Jackie Lawrence (Labour). Signed by 71 members.
That this House welcomes the publication of the report of the Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones into Mobile Phones and Health; and furthermore welcomes the Government's immediate response and acceptance of the recommendation for a precautionary approach advised by the Stewart Group in addition to expressing willingness to introduce a requirement for full planning permission for all new telecommunications masts, thereby allowing proper democratic input in dealing with any such planning applications for telecommunications masts which was effectively withdrawn by the previous Conservative Government who granted permitted development rights for such applications.
