DEFENCE DEBATES
Early day motion 671, tabled 20 April 2000 by Bruce George (Labour). Signed by 18 members.
That this House deplores the decision to hold the debate on defence in the world on the day of the English local elections, when most English Members are expected to be in their constituencies; and believes this is entirely inappropriate less than 12 months after the end of Operation Allied Force and at a crucial stage in the development of the European Security and Defence Identity.
Signatures by party: Labour 11, Conservative 4, Liberal Democrat 2, Labour/Co-operative 1.
