INDEPENDENT PETROL RETAILERS

Early day motion 1122, tabled 6 November 2000 by Jackie Ballard (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 64 members.

That this House supports the struggle of small independent petrol retailers to stay in business; condemns large petrol companies for charging higher prices for the petrol they sell on the open market than the price they charge on their own forecourts; and calls for the Government to launch an investigation into this predatory pricing which is driving many small independent petrol retailers out of business and reducing services in rural areas.
