BRITISH WAR GRAVES GARDENERS
Early day motion 1070, tabled 23 October 2000 by David Crausby (Labour). Signed by 75 members.
That this House welcomes the announcement of an independent review of pay to gardeners tending British war graves abroad; believes that it is unacceptable to reduce the income of gardeners employed to care for British war graves; and urges the Director General of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to reconsider the decision to cut salaries which angered loyal employees and offended relatives of the heroes who gave their lives fighting for freedom.
