USE OF WELSH IN THE WELSH GRAND COMMITTEE

Early day motion 905, tabled 28 June 2000 by Jon Owen Jones (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 31 members.

That this House notes that the use of Welsh as well as English in Welsh Grand Committees held in Wales has proved a success and also notes that the Welsh Assembly is completely bilingual; and therefore calls for both languages to be given equal status in the Welsh Grand Committee, wherever it meets.

Signatures by party: Labour 19, Liberal Democrat 6, Plaid Cymru 4, Conservative 1, Labour/Co-operative 1.
