MIKE TYSON AND FUTURE VISITS TO THE UK

Early day motion 901, tabled 27 June 2000 by Alex Salmond (Scottish National Party). Signed by 36 members.

That this House notes with regret the events surrounding Mike Tyson's recent fight in Glasgow; the public opposition to the visit and the questionable benefits to the Glasgow economy and the UK's reputation as a venue for major sporting events; notes with particular concern the unacceptable comments made by Mike Tyson in relation to Lennox Lewis and his family; and calls on the Home Secretary to reject any future visa applications for Mike Tyson to visit the UK.
