APPOINTMENTS TO THE SOUTH WEST REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Early day motion 152, tabled 17 December 1998 by Laurence Robertson (Conservative). Signed by 2 members.

That this House notes with regret that of the thirteen board members appointed to the South West Regional Development Agency, none represent organisations, or hold positions, in Gloucestershire; points out that because of its peripheral position in the South West Region, Gloucestershire frequently loses out in grants and funding when compared to the other counties in the Region; is concerned that the failure to appoint a person nominated by any organisation in Gloucestershire will further marginalise the County; and calls upon the Minister to reconsider the appointments.
