PRESCRIPTIONS FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS

Early day motion 35, tabled 24 November 1998 by Lord Stunell (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 120 members.

That this House notes with regret that free NHS prescriptions for medication to treat chronic illness are available only for those requiring treatment for specific medical conditions set out in the National Health Service (Remission of Charges Regulations) 1988 No. 551, which excludes cystic fibrosis, leading to significant hardship to many; and therefore calls on the Government to extend the list of chronic medical conditions covered by the Regulations to include cystic fibrosis.
