FAIR LOTTERY FUNDING FOR THE COALFIELD AREAS

Early day motion 28, tabled 24 November 1998 by Michael Clapham (Labour). Signed by 71 members.

That this House applauds the swift response of the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to the recommendations in the Coalfields Task Force Report; and welcomes the investigation he has launched into the reasons for the poor record of lottery funding in the coalfield and former coalfield areas with the purpose of increasing their take-up of lottery funding to at least the national average by the year 2000.

Signatures by party: Labour 65, Labour/Co-operative 6.
