THEFT OF PETROL FROM SERVICE STATION FORECOURTS

Early day motion 1153, tabled 14 November 2000 by Bob Laxton (Labour). Signed by 28 members.

That this House calls upon the Secretary of State for the Home Department to amend existing legislation relating to the issue of registration plates for vehicles in the light of an increase in the theft of petrol from service station forecourts and the use of false number plates by thieves to avoid detection by making identification of the vehicle and its owner impossible.
