GENETICALLY-MODIFIED CROPS

Early day motion 333, tabled 16 February 1999 by Robert Syms (Conservative). Signed by 14 members.

That this House notes that the Catering Committee has banned genetically-modified foods from the House and that the Chairman, the honourable Member for Wolverhampton South East, has called for a proper inquiry but that the Right honourable Member for Copeland has rejected calls for a moratorium on commercial planting of genetically-modified crops; and calls on the Prime Minister to explain clearly the reason why he rejects a moratorium on commercial planting of genetically-modified crops.
