Early day motion 646A1, tabled 18 May 1999 by Hilton Dawson (Labour). Signed by 3 members.

leave out from 'against' to end and add 'a long ordeal of racial harassment, strongly supports the healthy constructive role of the Ryelands Community Association; commends Lancaster City Council and Lancaster police for their excellent work in bringing perpetrators to justice and protecting the victims; acknowledges that efforts have been made for a number of years to facilitate their expressed desire to move without financial loss; and calls upon the Government to work with Lancaster City Council to seek an acceptable resolution of this matter in the light of the more sophisticated understanding of the impact of racism which the Macpherson Report demands.'.
