CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR NORTH WEST CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Early day motion 583, tabled 22 April 1999 by Helen Clark (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House congratulates Ministers from various departments for their many visits to Peterborough since May 1997, especially the honourable Member for Mansfield, who has visited on three occasions; regrets that the benefit to Peterborough of these visits has not been appreciated by the Right honourable Member for North West Cambridgeshire, who chose to abandon the majority of the people of Peterborough at the last election to fight another seat; further regrets that the Right honourable Member has put down parliamentary questions about the most recent of these visits; and condemns the Right honourable Member's use of public funds for political aims in the run-up to a local election.
