PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP FOR LONDON UNDERGROUND
Early day motion 527, tabled 13 April 1999 by Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 35 members.
That this House understands the desperate need for investment in London's Underground; notes that the Government's planned Public Private Partnership is up to two years behind schedule; further notes the increasing numbers of academics and experts who are arguing for a public interest company or trust to provide secure funding for the Underground; and urges the Government to investigate this option fully, seriously and urgently as an alternative to the PPP.
Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 30, Labour 5.
