LEWISHAM COLLEGE

Early day motion 462, tabled 22 March 1999 by Joan Ruddock (Labour). Signed by 6 members.

That this House wholeheartedly congratulates Lewisham College on being the first college to get a full set of grade 1s for cross college provision in round two of inspections by the Further Education Funding Council; applauds the outstanding leadership provided by its Principal, Ms Ruth Silver, and the dedication of its governors and teachers; and recognises the significance of such achievements in an area where educational standards of school leavers are below average and where 79 per cent. of the college's students live in wards designated by the Funding Council as deprived.
