That this House invites Northern Electric/Gas to give a similar commitment to North-East consumers as Scottish Power has given to theirs to radically reduce the burden of charges of the fuel poor, offer a life line rate for the poor, to embark upon a programme of energy conservation funded by shareholders, to reduce standing charges to 55 pence per month with no winter disconnections, a unit charge of 4 pence per kWh and a price rebate of ú25 million pounds to be shared between all customers.
