RECONSIDERATION OF BOARDROOM PAY

Early day motion 853, tabled 20 July 1999 by Stephen Hesford (Labour). Signed by 103 members.

That this House joins with ordinary members of the public in deploring the continued excessive rates in boardroom pay, particularly those of the former public utilities; welcomes the Government's review of boardroom pay; and, if no self-restraint is forthcoming, calls for legislation to reform corporate governance so as to end fat cat excess.
