TURN-OUT AT ELECTIONS

Early day motion 736, tabled 17 June 1999 by David Crausby (Labour). Signed by 22 members.

That this House recognises that low turn-outs in elections are not in the interest of democracy and, with Great Britain almost at the bottom of the international league table, calls upon the Government to consider increasing voter turn-out by introducing real incentives to increase voter participation.

Signatures by party: Labour 16, Labour/Co-operative 3, Liberal Democrat 2, Conservative 1.
