CO-OP SOCIETIES

Early day motion 138, tabled 18 June 1997 by Angela Smith. Signed by 66 members.

That this House congratulates these Co-op societies which have decided to ban alcopops from their 1,200 licensed stores and, especially in the light of reports of an increase in under age drinking; welcomes the decision to remove from sale other products which are clearly aimed at a teenage market and are consumed by people who cannot legally buy them; and further welcomes the ban as an indication of Co-op retailers commitment to responsible trading.
