DYFED/POWYS HEALTH AUTHORITY AND COMMUNITY HOSPITALS

Early day motion 51, tabled 22 May 1997 by Lord Livsey of Talgarth (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 7 members.

That this House totally rejects the Dyfed Powys Health Authority's proposed closure of eight community hospitals as a solution to its forecasted ú11 million deficit over the next five years; notes that these proposals have rightly caused outrage in the communities that could be affected; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Wales to restore the authority's Welsh Office funding formula as it was prior to the changes forced upon it in 1992-93.

Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 5, Labour 1, Plaid Cymru 1.
