CONDUCT OF THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR EDINBURGH SOUTH (No. 2)
Early day motion 213, tabled 7 July 1997 by Baroness May of Maidenhead (Conservative). Signed by 25 members.
That this House deplores the behaviour of the honourable Member for Edinburgh South who, whilst representing Her Majesty's Government, made a speech in Antwerp in June 1997 saying that Conservative Ministers had undermined consumers' confidence by lying to the public; and calls on the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State to withdraw these remarks publicly and for his removal from any future engagements abroad representing this House or Her Majestry's Government.
Signatures by party: Conservative 25.
