PYLONS IN NORTH YORKSHIRE
Early day motion 187, tabled 1 July 1997 by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering (Conservative). Signed by 7 members.
That this House calls upon the President of the Board of Trade to honour the Government's commitment to oppose the building of pylons across North Yorkshire by the National Grid; notes that power lines can be buried underground and that power should be supplied locally on the basis of demand; and notes that all parties gave a commitment to reject the erection of such pylons and that a definitive decision is now required.
