ESSEX PIG

Early day motion 662, tabled 19 January 1998 by Bob Russell (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 15 members.

That this House welcomes the news that a few survivors of the Essex pig, a breed believed to have become extinct, have been located at Layer Marney Tower in the Borough of Colchester; hopes that the one breeding boar and three sows will have the strength to increase the breed's population in time for this summer's Essex County Show; and calls on all who care about rare breeds to help ensure the survival of the Essex pig.

Signatures by party: Labour 12, Liberal Democrat 3.
