IT IMPACT ASSESSMENTS TO REDUCE YEAR 2000 RISKS
Early day motion 661, tabled 19 January 1998 by Andrew Miller (Labour). Signed by 37 members.
That this House welcomes the open approach of Her Majesty's Government regarding its plans to address the year 2000 date problem; and requests it to require departments with relevant policy responsibility also to produce information technology impact assessments for all past or current proposals requiring systems changes to the same timescale, including statutory instruments and regulatory decisions to implement European directives, so as to ensure that the implementation of those which might require scarce information technology resources can be timetabled with due regard to the impact of any identified year 2000 problems upon both public and private sectors.
