SCOTTISH FARMERS

Early day motion 613, tabled 18 December 1997 by Charles Kennedy (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 17 members.

That this House congratulates the National Farmers' Union of Scotland and the Daily Record campaign to encourage people living in Scotland to buy Scottish products as farmers are facing severe difficulties and deserve the support of the community; and calls upon the Government to add its support by increasing support for hill farmers through the Hill Livestock Compensatory Allowances, accessing the funds available from Europe to compensate for the green pound revaluations and ensuring that our farmers can compete on a level playing field.

Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 12, Scottish National Party 3, Conservative 1, Plaid Cymru 1.
