ACCESS TO OFFICERS OF TUNBRIDGE WELLS BOROUGH COUNCIL
Early day motion 467, tabled 17 November 1997 by Ann Widdecombe (Conservative). Signed by 15 members.
That this House deplores the refusal of the Liberal Democrat Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to allow Conservative honourable Members direct access to officers; considers this will severely damage the service honourable Members can render to constituents in that that area; notes that the Conservative Kent County Council allows honourable Members of all parties direct access to its officers and that this is in line with the practices of most other councils; and calls upon Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to restore the usual democratic processes.
Signatures by party: Conservative 15.
