CONDUCT OF THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION (No. 4)

Early day motion 915, tabled 5 March 1998 by Paul Flynn (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House, noting the Director General of Fair Trading's action against the loan sharks the City Mortgage Corporation, who routinely robbed their clients with oppressive interest rates and repossessions, calls on the Leader of the Opposition to donate to the victims of CMC the £20,000 gift he received from ex-Tory councillor and disgraced former Managing Director of CMC Mr David Steene, as otherwise the Opposition and its Leader remain vulnerable to the charge that they are indirectly benefitting from these frauds.
