REPLACEMENT WARHEAD FOR TRIDENT

Early day motion 836, tabled 25 February 1998 by Alan Simpson (Labour). Signed by 34 members.

That this House is concerned about the current US programme to upgrade and improve the US Trident warhead in breach of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; believes that Britain should not repeat the folly and dishonesty of the Chevaline programme in the 1970s; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to make an unequivocal commitment that Britain will not upgrade, improve or replace its Trident nuclear warheads.
