CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR COPELAND
Early day motion 784, tabled 12 February 1998 by James Gray (Conservative). Signed by 11 members.
That this House deplores the arrogant and dismissive attitude of the Right Honourable Member for Copeland who failed to attend the debate on the Beef Bones Regulations on 10 February, choosing instead to spend time in the Members' Smoking Room; believes that this is symptomatic of the contempt which this Government has shown for both consumers, who are so outraged by this illiberal interference in their freedom to choose what to eat, and for beef farmers, about whose plight he has seemed unconcerned; and calls on the government to reconsider this ridiculous ban.
