ESSEX SCHOOL TRANSPORT

Early day motion 1205, tabled 6 April 1998 by Bob Russell (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 15 members.

That this House deplores the decision of the Conservative-controlled Essex County Council Education Committee to introduce school and college transport charges for pupils and students over the age of 16 years; believes that such charges will in particular hit those living in rural areas or some distance from the school or college of their choice; and calls on other Conservative county councillors to overturn the decision.
