CALCUTTA CUP MATCH
Early day motion 1015, tabled 12 March 1998 by Donald Gorrie (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 8 members.
That this House regrets the decision by the Scottish Rugby Union to hold the Calcutta Cup match against England on a Sunday, causing great inconvenience to Scottish and English supporters travelling from distances, removing legitimate trade from Edinburgh business and ruining a great social occasion, all in the interests of conveniencing their television paymasters.
Signatures by party: Liberal Democrat 5, Labour 2, Scottish National Party 1.
