SNP AND WOMEN'S REPRESENTATION
Early day motion 1398, tabled 8 June 1998 by Anne Begg (Labour). Signed by 28 members.
That this House notes the failure of the Scottish National Party to take any steps to ensure more women stand for the Scottish Parliament; regards this as symptomatic of a party more interested in striking a posture than in delivering for the people of Scotland; and contrasts the SNP's attitude with that of the Scottish Labour Party, which has taken steps to ensure equal representation of men and women in the new Scottish Parliament.
Signatures by party: Labour 28.
