That this House congratulates the Government on making available, through supplementary credit approvals, £0.9 billion of capital receipts to local authorities to spend on housing; notes that this money has provided local authorities with an important start in tackling the £18 billiion of disrepair in council housing, as estimated by the Chartered Institute of Housing; and very much looks forward to the remaining £4.1 billion being made available to allow local authorities to continue to repair and improve their housing.
