BOLTON INSTITUTE'S BID FOR UNIVERSITY STATUS

Early day motion 1248, tabled 27 April 1998 by Brian Iddon (Labour). Signed by 83 members.

That this House recognises that Bolton Institute is a university in all but name, since it has awarded its own degrees and higher degrees for some years, and that its bid for university status has a considerable amount of public support, not only within Bolton but across the country; and calls upon the Government to support this bid.
