ROAD TRAFFIC DEATHS
Early day motion 1235, tabled 22 April 1998 by Mark Oaten (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 102 members.
That this House believes that the bereaved relatives and friends of people killed on the roads should have accurate, clear and concise information outlining procedures automatically distributed to them, as it currently is for those bereaved through homicides via police forces; and, to this end, welcomes the publication by Trauma Advisory Services, a division of the road safety group Brake, of Procedures Following a Death on the Road in England and Wales which includes important information on issues such as organ donation, inquests, police investigations and legal and civil prosecutions.
Signatures by party: Labour 61, Liberal Democrat 27, Labour/Co-operative 6, Plaid Cymru 3, Conservative 2, UUP 2, DUP 1.
