BUCKINGHAMSHIRE FIRE AUTHORITY

Early day motion 1233, tabled 22 April 1998 by Brian White (Labour). Signed by 27 members.

That this House condemns Buckinghamshire Fire Authority for charging homeowners for pumping out their homes following recent flooding in Milton Keynes; notes that Buckinghamshire is the only fire authority proposing to do this; expresses its sympathy with those who suffered from the recent flooding and its outrage that their distress should be exacerbated in this way; and calls on Buckinghamshire to withdraw the charge and reconsider its action .
